Hyperactivity following unilateral hearing loss in characterized cells in the inferior colliculus
Highlights • Acoustic trauma results in hyperactivity in inferior colliculus neurons. • Hyperactive neurons are observed in all response types except for onset cells. • This pattern of hyperactivity is different than that observed in the cochlear nucleus.
