Safety and immunogenicity of inactivated poliovirus vaccine based on Sabin strains with and without aluminum hydroxide: A phase I trial in healthy adults

Highlights • Both Sabin-IPV and Sabin-IPV adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide are well-tolerated. • A booster with Sabin-IPV or adjuvanted Sabin-IPV is equally immunogenic as conventional IPV. • Sabin-IPV induces virus neutralizing titers against both Sabin and wild poliovirus strains.
