Summary: | The objectives of this study were to perform the optimization and validation of three commercially available immunoassays for the measurement of IgA, IgG, and IgM (Igs) in porcine saliva samples and to determinate if their concentrations may be used to distinguish healthy from diseased animals. Intra and inter assay coefficients of variation were lower than 15% in all cases. All methods showed good linearity and recovery; and detection limits were low enough to detect Igs levels in healthy and diseased animals. The clinical validation showed an increase statistically significant (P |
