Description
Summary:Between 3 and 30 January 1987 a Dutch expedition of five members worked on South Georgia (54 degree S, 37 degree W), the subantarctic island in the Southern Atlantic Ocean some 2000 km east of Tierra del Fuego, 350 km south of the Antarctic Convergence. Aims of the expedition were to collect biological information on the island's ecosystems and the influence of man upon them, and to enlarge appreciation of the value and beauty of the subantarctic regions and interest in nature conservation in this region. The party also spent one week (22-29 December 1986) on the Falkland Islands, where biological information was collected.
