Summary: | Although the herbicide 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) is used widely as an agricultural chemical, few toxicological studies have been done on animals customarily used in monitoring for environmental contamination. It was the aim of the present study to investigate the toxic action of Erbitox E30 on the chicken embryo liver and a possible accumulation of MCPA in this tissue; particularly the effect on hepatocyte catalase (a marker enzyme for peroxisome) was studied. |
