Summary:Mario Savoiardo, former Head of Neuroradiology at Carlo Besta National Neurological Institute in Milan and a world-class, influential Italian neuroradiologist, passed away on January 30, 2014 after a long battle with illness. He undertook his ordeal with dignity and silence while continuing to profess his enthusiasm and dedication to our discipline until his final days. Mario passed with discretion as was in his character to do, and peacefully as he deserved.
