Summary: | Reentrainment of deposited aerosol materials during the blowdown of a reactor containment which fails due to overpressure, could increase the amount of radioactivity released to the environment. In order to contribute to the study of this reentrainment process, an experiment (PARESS, PArticle RESuspension Study) has been initiated to quantify particle resuspension from a multilayer deposit by turbulent flow. In this paper, results from an array-photometer confirm the two previous features and give some indications of the initial-resuspension (i.e. resuspension during the first few seconds). |
