Summary: | A preparation is described by which the wing hinge stretch receptor (SR) of Locusta migratoria is mechanically isolated so that it can be subjected to stretch stimuli while avoiding interference with wing hinge mechanics. Using this approach and sinusoidal stretches of different amplitudes the SR can be stimulated up to a definite saturation frequency. The SR is a receptor signalling the momentary position of the sclerites to which it is attached. |
