Summary: | Following discussion with frontline health visitors, practice teachers and students, the resources were developed. The first resource is practice worksheets. The second resource is based on the card-matching game 'Pelmanism' and provides an opportunity for health visiting students to test their knowledge and revisit some of the theories and models that underpin health visiting practice. The third resource was an interactive game entitled, 'Exploring and Understanding the Determinants of Health' comprising 50 cards with photo graphics that stimulate discussion with respect to wider determinants that impact on child and family health. The final resource is a safeguarding game that helps health visitors to learn lessons from serious case reviews in a fun and innovative way, based on the game of 'Snakes and Ladders'. In developing the resources, the designers were keen to ensure that they reflected current national policy and yet have sustainability in the long term. |
