Description
Summary:ABSTRACTSecondary eosinophilia is usually associated with parasitosis in Third World countries. We present a case of eosinophilia secondary to Sparganum mansoni infection showing multifocal FDG uptake in the axial bones mimicking malignancy. Bone marrow aspirations and biopsy revealed remarkable proliferation of eosinophils which may be related to the increased FDG uptake. This case indicates that secondary eosinophilia associated with parasitosis may be one cause of diffuse FDG uptake in the bone marrow.
