Summary:A novel palladium-catalyzed three-component reaction for the synthesis of quinazolin-4(3H)-ones from readily available 2-aminobenzamides and aryl halides via a palladium-catalyzed isocyanide insertion/cyclization sequence has been developed. This methodology efficiently constructs quinazolin-4(3H)-ones in moderate to excellent yields with the advantages of operational simplicity.
