Summary: | The insecticide fenvalerate is a synthetic pyrethroid which has a low solubility in sea water and is strongly adsorbed on sediment and suspended solids. Experiments are reported on its effects in estuarine benthic communities developed in the laboratory and in the field. The results, summarized in tables and discussed, show that the presence of this pesticide, even at very low concentrations, could have an adverse effect on estuarine organisms. |
