Striking effects of magnetic field on the growth morphology of electrochemical deposits

Description
Summary:The growth morphology of electrochemical deposits of zinc and polypyrrole is investigated in strong magnetic fields of up to 8 T in order to develop a new processing method of “morphology tailoring”. The electrolysis was performed in a thin-layer solution within a large-bore superconducting magnet. The magnetic field was found to bring about drastic changes in the growth morphology through the magnetohydrodynamic effect and the diamagnetic effect.
