Transposed ovary mimicking a peritoneal implant on FDG PET/CT in a patient with carcinoma of the rectum

Ovarian transposition is a procedure to preserve ovarian function by placing the ovaries outside the radiation field of pelvic radiation therapy for gynaecological malignancies in young women. However, this procedure is less commonly performed in rectal cancer.
