Summary: | We studied age-specific breeding effort of female interior Canada geese (Branta canadensis interior) near Cape Churchill, Manitoba, 1981-84. We compared the age distribution of 87 known-age females encountered on nests or found with brood patches during trapping operations with the expected frequency of known-age geese in the population. Relative breeding rates of 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and ≥7-yearold females were 7, 15, 40, 100, 95, and 94%, respectively. We suggest that females |
