It demonstrates that Henry's constant is by far the most important parameter that affects the ease of stripping of a contaminant. Three categories of contaminants are identified; those which are not amenable to air stripping at all, those that are very easily stripped under almost any conditions; and a transitional group for which the stripping tower design must be carefully optimised for good results. Data on typical tower packings and typical contaminants are included. |
