Description
Summary:A field method is described for evaluating the respiration of benthic freshwater communities by measurement of the CO 2 production. The advantages of this method are discussed and the results obtained in the polysaprobic area of an organically polluted brook are presented. The dependence of the respiration on the total organic carbon content of the mud is shown.
