Environmental contamination by Corynebacterium urealyticum in a teaching hospital

We have detected skin colonization by C. urealyticum in hospitalized patients who did not harbour such an organism at admission (unpublished observations), suggesting nosocomial acquisition from the human or in-animate environment in the hospital.
