Tetrathiafulvalene as a mediator for the electrocatalytic oxidation of L-ascorbic acid

The electro-oxidation of ascorbic acid by tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) was examined at carbon electrodes by cyclic voltammetry. At edge plane pyrolytic graphite in solution and a TTF-modified carbon paste electrode, oxidation of ascorbic acid occurs at approximately 0·25 V. While mediation by TTF in sol...

Description
Summary:The electro-oxidation of ascorbic acid by tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) was examined at carbon electrodes by cyclic voltammetry. At edge plane pyrolytic graphite in solution and a TTF-modified carbon paste electrode, oxidation of ascorbic acid occurs at approximately 0·25 V. While mediation by TTF in solution is not considerable, it occurs to a limited extent at the modified carbon paste electrode.
