Description
Summary:The purpose of this report is to briefly summarize where ocean color research stands today, as well as to outline the plans for the next 10 years. Much of the satellite ocean color research effort in the past 10 years was focused on understanding what CZCS was actually measuring, as well as learning the limitations of the measurements and how to improve the accuracy and increase the applicability of the technique. Considerable progress has been made, and we are now at the point where scientific applications, rather than development, will be the further research emphasis.
