Description
Summary:The population density and volume-biomass of plankton were analyzed at 14 stations along the eastern Adriatic Sea as indicators of eutrophication status. Four ecosystem classifications were established on the basis of data frequency distribution. Correlations among phosphates and phytoplankton quantity parameters were observed to be positive. Microplankton and nanoplankton volumes were moderately positively correlated with phosphate levels; this correlation is significant for microplankton but not for nanoplankton volume.
