Summary: | This is the sixth in a series of articles on the development of a methodology for assessing waste heat utilization technologies and optimizing the mix of technologies used on a site-specific basis. As part of this effort, a model for simulating the crop drying option has been developed. The model uses readily obtainable site-specific data such as climatic information and the temperature of the heated water. The outputs include the exit air conditions (temperature and relative humidity), the mass flow rate of the circulating heated water, and the exit water temperature. This model has been used in simulations in order to assess the economic feasibility of this method of utilizing waste heat. |
