The Uncut m1 and Systematic Position of the North American Water Vole (Microtus richardsoni)

The cap of the anterior loop of the uncut m1 in Microtus richardsoni is simple, as it is in other Microtus spp., not highly complex like the respective cap in Arvicola terrestris. This supports the placement of M. richardsoni in the genus Microtus.
