Summary: | Studies on variations in the meiofaunal abundance in the Gosthani Estuary on the east coast of India revealed that nematodes, foraminiferans and ostracods occurred in relatively higher numbers during the post-southwest monsoons, southwest monsoon and summer seasons respectively. Bivalves, oligochaetes and polychaetes occurred in considerable abundance during the southwest monsoon season. The mid-tide abundance was higher than the high- and low-tide abundance. |
