Summary: | Among 232 Ontario sport fishing license holders from Cornwall and Mississauga, fourteen pooled plama samples were created based on community, age and Great Lakes fish-eating status. Total dioxin and furan TEQs ranged from > 20.8 to 41.2 ng/kg blood lipid, increasing with age. For older Mississauga anglers, eaters' TEQs were higher than non-eaters. TEQs for mono and di-ortho PCBs were higher across all age categories in Mississauga eaters. In Cornwall, non-ortho PCB TEQs were higher in older anglers, while mono and di-ortho PCB TEQs were higher in younger anglers. |
