Summary: | The processes occurring during the preparation of polyester non-woven fabric reinforced polysulfone (PS) membranes are discussed based on a simple model. The relationship between the porosity of the fabric, the extent of penetration of the PS casting solution, the time that elapses between the completion of casting and the onset of gelation, and the thickness of the PS membrane above the surface of the fabric are theoretically deduced; and the results are verified experimentally. |
