Description
Summary:The dynamics of solar-terrestrial relations in summer 2012 during passage from the growth phase to the maximum phase is considered. The four-sector structure of the Large-Scale Open Solar Magnetic Field (LOSMF) became more complicated because of a breakthrough of the southern-polarity fields to the North Pole and the beginning of magnetic polarity reversal. Four turns involving the A 1, B 1, C 1, D 0, …, D 4 sectors are considered. Clear relations between the LOSMF and meteo parameters were noticed at the beginning of the ( A 1, A 2) passage, which can be explained by the fact that the sign of the sectoral structure of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) affects the following series of physical processes: electric field amplification in the Global Electric Circuit (GEC), the rise of aerosols, the condensation of humid air, pressure decrease, baroclinic instability of the atmosphere, and the generation of long waves and cyclones.
