Summary:The generation of electric energy wind systems stemmed arises as an alternative of great potential and can promote economic and social development, increasing of rural producers income with the reduction us cost of energy, electrical pumping of water in irrigation systems of form the complement in the hydroelectric generation. The work aimed to the simulation of generation of electric energy from wind power stemmed as a viable alternative for pumping water for irrigation in the region aiming to Russas, Ceará, Brazil. For such was used the software EOLUSOFT - Version 1.0 Beta NUTEMA-PUCRS. In water pumping was considered a water pump 1.5 hp with capacity to pump 16.000 L h -1 a 8 meters high. The simulation system as an alternative wind energy to meet the needs of electrical power in rural irrigated conditions with wind speed is capable of providing supplies essential, especially with regard to the pumping of water for irrigation.
