Summary:The literature has highlighted the paper of the participation in the capital of the international joint venture as mechanism of control. Nevertheless, a partner cannot trust exclusively in the above mentioned participation to guarantee the success of his strategy. By means of the study of a case, the present work emphasizes that, even in possession of the majority of the capital, a partner must resort to other mechanisms of control, between which they have special importance the policies of personnel relative to the managerial positions of the IJV.
