Description
Summary:In this paper, the soil erosion problem in Deqing County, especially its impacts and its severity in the spatial context, is discussed. The causes of soil erosion are analysed with respect to dominant factors and observed erosion processes. Based on such information, the relative cost-effectiveness of the range of erosion control measures are determined. These measures, when combined with attempts to improve land productivity in an integrated watershed management plan, and implemented by innovative forms of cost-sharing, are considered to be the ultimate solution to solving the problems of soil erosion and land management in the granitic regions of Guangdong Province.
