Erythrocyte membrane fatty acids in multiple myeloma patients

Description
Summary:Highlights • The n-3/n-6 ratio of the erythrocyte membrane FA was significantly lower in MM patients compared to the control group. • The SFA index was significantly higher in the erythrocyte membrane of MM patients. • There is distinct clustering of the variants of individual fatty acids in the erythrocyte membranes of myeloma patients. • The FA content of erythrocyte membrane could serve as a diagnostic and/or predictive biomarker in MM. • Further research is needed, especially comparing lipid changes with relation to the duration and progression of myeloma.
