Rosiglitazone attenuates hyperglycemia-enhanced hemorrhagic transformation after transient focal ischemia in rats

Highlights • We used a rat model of hyperglycemia-enhanced hemorrhagic transformation. • Rosiglitazone reduced infarct volume after focal ischemia. • Rosiglitazone reduced hemorrhagic transformation. • Rosiglitazone increased expression of collagen IV by preservation of GLUT1.
