Summary:The goal of this project was to: (1) document the presence or absence of chlorinated pesticide residues within the marsh substrate of 18 St. Lucie County mosquito control impoundments along the Indian River Lagoon (IRL), (2) document the mobility of these pesticides into the IRL under contrasting marsh management techniques (well-flushed vs. poorly flushed), and (3) document the effect of standard impoundment management techniques on Indian River water quality.
