Summary: | The effects of different culture conditions (medium, growth regulators and irradiance) on the development of Chondrus crispus sporelings were investigated. All three factors had significant effects on the percentage of spores which germinated and/or on the growth of erect axes. Statistically significant interactive effects (medium x irradiance, medium x time and medium x growth regulator) were also found. Maximum spore germination and growth of young shoots were obtained in Swm-t medium containing 1 mg L super(-1) of benzylaminopurine under an irradiance of 20 mu mol photons m super(-2) s super(-1). The highest irradiance tested, 30 mu mol photons m super(-2) s super(-1), caused discoloration of disc-stage sporelings and greatly reduced their viability, but on the other hand, under this irradiance, growth of erect axes of more than 5 mm in length was highest in Swm-t medium containing 1 mg L super(-1) of indole-3-acetic acid and naphthalene-acetic acid.Original Abstract: En este estudio se analizo el efecto de diferentes condiciones de cultivo (medio, irradiancia y reguladores de crecimiento) en el desarrollo a partir de espora de Chondrus crispus. Los resultados obtenidos permitieron observar la existencia de diferencias significativas en los efectos de los distintos niveles de los tres factores analizados en la germinacion de las esporas y el crecimiento de los individuos que de ellas se originaron, existiendo un efecto interactivo en las distintas combinaciones de los factores medio e irradiancia. Los valores maximos de la tasa de germinacion y del creci-miento de los estadios juveniles se obtuvieron en el medio Swm-t al que se anadio 1 mg L super(-1) de bencil amino-purina, bajo irradiancias de 20 mu mol fotones m super(-2) s super(-1). Bajo niveles de irradiancia superior (30 mmol fotones m super(-2) s super(-1)), pese a que inicialmente se observo decoloracion de los individuos juveniles, las frondes supervivientes mostraron valores de crecimiento superiores cuando permanecieron en medio Swm-t al que se anadio 1 mg L super(-1) de acido indol-acetico o acido naftalen-acetico. |
