Determination of the molecular dynamics of alamethicin using super(13)C NMR: Implications for the mechanism of gating of a voltage-dependent channel

Alamethicin is a channel-forming peptide antibiotic that produces a highly voltage-dependent conductance in planar bilayers. To provide insight into the mechanisms for its voltage dependence, the dynamics of the peptide were examined in solution using nuclear magnetic resonance.
