Woodman introduces the Manser Medal with an essay on its celebration of the commitment to design, and the following shortlisted buildings are described: Lens House, by Alison Brooks Architects; House No 7, by Denizen Works; Cliff House, by Dualchas Architects; Luker House, by Jamie Fobert Architects; the Kench, by John Young and Meloy Architects; and Stormy Castle, by Loyn & Co Architects. Smith's essay on the Stephen Lawrence Prize discusses how it fosters opportunity, and the projects described include: Tree House, by 6a Architects; House No 7, by Denizen Works; Alex Monroe Studio, by DSDHA; Royal William Yard Staircase, by Gillespie Yunnie Architects; Exbury Egg, by PAD Studio; and Ott's Yard, by vPPR Architects. Finally, the essay by Robinson discusses what constitutes a good client in the architectural process; the shortlist comprises Manchester Metropolitan University, Arts Council Collection and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and Argent.
