Summary: | Siriwardena and Siriwardena talk about pancreatic cancer. More than eight in 10 cases of pancreatic cancer are ductal adenocarcinoma arising from the epithelium of the exocrine pancreas. Obstruction of the lower common bile duct gives rise to the classic presentation of painless obstructive jaundice. Tumors can also arise from the body or tail of the gland, and these are particularly difficult to diagnose because symptoms tend to be a late feature. |
