Summary:Figures 8 and 9 show the step responses of the closed-loop system with controllers and Cmg, respectively. At pH = 6, C,* performs as expected (with a settling time of 8 min), and so does Cmg at pH = 8 (about 1 min). However, the response of the closed-loop system at pH = 6 with Cmg is very slow (Figure 9, red line), with a settling time of about 25 min. The response of the closed-loop system at pH = 8 with is very fast (Figure 8, blue line), with a settling time of about 1 min.
