Summary: | SUMMARY
Downsizing has become essential in the development of motors in order to meet requirements related to environmental issues such as resource depletion and energy shortages. To satisfy these demands, we propose downsizing techniques for a conventional motor where a solid insulation system is utilized and a large amount of insulation resin is employed to replace the structural metal materials used in conventional motors. This paper presents a feasibility study on a solid insulation system applied to a downsized motor. The optimal heat design, mechanically stable structure, and proper insulation resin are proposed and discussed. A prototype motor was manufactured, and the results of a basic insulation test, temperature rise test, and noise test are presented. |
