Summary: | Thickened wall and endothelial swelling of the superficial dermal capillaries were found at the skin biopsy histological examination, supporting the SNS diagnosis (Fig. 2B). Because of stroke occurrence while on antiplatelet therapy, anticoagulation was started, but 3 months after discharge the patient suffered from an acute onset episode of weakness in her right arm. An ischemic lesion was detected by diffusion-weighted MRI in the left precentral gyrus. Because a brain CT perfusion detected a widespread subcortical hypoperfusion especially pronounced in the border-zone territories, a hemodynamic mechanism was supposed for the recurrent strokes. |
