Symbiosis between nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria and plants
The symbiosis of cyanobacteria of the Nostoc species and the hornwort Anthoceros punctatus is primarily unidirectional. The plant influences the cyanobacterium by means of chemical signals. These include hormogonium-inducing and hormogonim-repressing factors.
