Summary: | A novel method (powder metallurgy) was used for preparing Ni–Mo–La/γ-alumina catalysts. The nonsulfided catalysts were developed to produce green diesel from the hydrocracking of Jatropha oil. The catalysts were characterized using N2 adsorption, X-ray diffraction, and laser microscope techniques. The selectivity of 77% was obtained for straight-chain C11–C20 alkanes at 370 °C, 3.0 MPa, and 0.9 h−1; the conversion of Jatropha oil was 80%. The reaction pathway was also discussed. |
