Summary: | The Spanish Technical Cooperation Agency financed the Equatorial Guinea Research and Nature Conservation Programme to increase scientific research, establish a national museum of natural history, and promote revised environmental legislation. Launched in 1985, the program is also designed to establish a network of protected natural areas, promote participation in international environmental fora, and implement environmental education campaigns. The effort has served to enhance the level of scientific awareness of resources in Guinea and has catalyzed development of legal tools for environmental protection. |
