Introduction
The Sysmex XN‐series is a new automated hematology analyzer designed to improve the accuracy of cell counts and the specificity of the flagging events.
Methods
The basic characteristics and the performance of new measurement channels of the XN were evaluated and compared with the Sysmex XE‐2100 and the manual method. Fluorescent platelet count (PLT‐F) was compared with the flow cytometric method. The low WBC mode and body fluid mode were also evaluated. For workflow analysis, 1005 samples were analyzed on both the XN and the XE‐2100, and manual review rates were compared.
Results
All parameters measured by the XN correlated well with the XE‐2100. PLT‐F showed better correlation with the flow cytometric method (r2 = 0.80) compared with optical platelet count (r2 = 0.73) for platelet counts |
