Summary:The procedure of evaluating the surface roughness of metal-cutting tools strengthened by the local electrospark deposition of coatings with the subsequent burnishing with VOK-60 mineral ceramics using a complex parameter (Δ) is considered. The facility and the principle of its operation for the smoothing of cylindrical, conical, and end surfaces using the lathes of the turning group are suggested. The optimal modes of burnishing with mineral ceramics to ensure the maximal durability of the smoother and the required roughness parameter are established.
