Description
Summary:The reactive sound and motion of textile fibers after breaking under tensile loading was recorded using audio signal recorders and high-speed photographic equipment. A measurable, prominant acoustic pulse is generated by the initial, longitudinal snap-back of the fiber. The intensity of this pulse was found to be linearly related to recoverable, elastic elongation and energy of the fiber.
