Description
Summary:A possible correlation between the dispersion in the velocities of regular galactic clusters and their total luminosity is discussed. Based on the generally accepted hypothesis that regular galactic clusters are equilibrated systems, we attempt to find a relationship similar to the Faber-Jackson relation between these quantities. The fact that no such relationship was found can be interpreted as a consequence of the incompleteness of the samples of galaxies that were used or, more likely, of the untenability of the assumption that these clusters are in equilibrium.
