Comparison of Ultra-Oxidation of CO and Methane Over Catalysts Based on Glass and Basalt Fibers

The properties of oxide catalysts on fibrous glass and basalt supports were examined. The catalysts were prepared by soaking fibers in Ni(NO 3 ) 2 solution (5%). Description
Summary:The properties of oxide catalysts on fibrous glass and basalt supports were examined. The catalysts were prepared by soaking fibers in Ni(NO 3 ) 2 solution (5%). Treating the fibrous supports with HCl solution affected the metal content in the catalysts and the activation energy and degree of conversion of CO and methane in the oxidation reactions. Interaction in the metal-oxide − support system was compared before and after treatment with HCl solution using temperature-programmed reduction by hydrogen.
