Summary:Information and records presented in previous papers describing the creation and early life of Géotechnique have been augmented by documents recently discovered in archives created by the late Hugh Golder, one of the journal's founding fathers. Correspondence with members of the European geotechnical community and with Karl Terzaghi in the 1940s and 1950s presents some new insights into the birth of Géotechnique and the characters involved, notably Hugh Golder himself. This paper summarises the principal information, and reproduces some of the interesting documents in the archive. It is presented within the context of earlier papers on the subject by the founding fathers of Géotechnique and by the author.
