Summary: | In this work, the authors determine the range of vibrations corresponding to a particular type of defect, which originates from the rolling mill operation or processed cold strip. The authors made measurements and registration of vibrations by using accelerometers and displacement transducers. The accelerometers are positioned on the top of back-up roll chuck bearing. The accelerometers are moving together with the backup rolls within the windows of rolling mill frame and are the first parts receiving the vibrations that occur during the operation. Those vibrations were transmitted from the work rolls to the backup rolls. The vibrations of rolling mill machine frame are produced if some damage appears within the drive mill machine (coupling, gearbox, etc.). The monitoring by comparing the rolling mill vibrations is combined with a complex system of control for technological parameter of the rolling mill process. Analyzing the difference in the vibrations parameters, at the beginning of the work period and after a period, one may estimate where the faults are, during the functioning of rolling mill machine. It is possible that the vibrations of the rolling mill machine appear because of damages transmitted from the rolling strip (prints, cracks, differences of thickness on length), which enter between the rolls of the mill machine to be processed. Monitoring of vibrations is a performing way for predicting the faults in the rolling mill equipment and for obtaining an increase quality of the laminated strip. All these monitoring systems are necessary because the demands on the quality of rolled strip are happened in real time. |
